WELCOME Many thanks for logging on to this site which was set up in memory of our dad, John Dalton. Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a fatal disease of the nervous system. The cause of the disease is unknown and there is no cure. It attacks the nerve cells that send messages from the brain to the muscles. As these cells gradually die, the muscles stop working. The body slowly deteriorates, and sufferers lose the ability to move their limbs, talk and swallow. Our dad died of the disease in May 2006, within 12 months of learning that he had it. John, who was positive until the end, would have been delighted at everyone's efforts to raise money for MND. On this site you can read all the lovely messages and fond memories that friends/family/colleagues have left. You can also see how the fabulous total has been raised. Raising money for this fund is vital. Monies donated to this site will go directly to the Motor Neurone Disease Association and will be used to research the disease (which currently has no known cause or cure) and provide support to families who are living with the disease. THANK-YOU We would like to say thank-you to the Naughton family for organising the recent fundraising night at OLPS club in Widnes. We managed to raise the fantastic amount of £1,400. Thanks to all those who came to show their support on the night. NEWS***NEWS***NEWS***NEWS***NEWS***NEWS***NEWS A Tribute CD has been produced by some of John's children to raise funds for this Trust Fund. The CD features cover songs by his daughters girl group 'Milan' and Mike Dalton and ALL proceeds go to this fund. The CD's are now on sale and were launched at the fundraising night on the 29th September at OLPS Club, Mayfield Ave, Widnes. Thanks to those who bought CDs.
